Nose Tip Reshaping (Tipplasty) in Turkey

Tipplasty is a cosmetic procedure that reshapes the tip of the nose without altering the bridge, bone, or overall nasal structure. It is sometimes called nasal tip refinement or tip rhinoplasty.

The nasal tip is made up of cartilage, and its shape is determined by the size, angle, and position of the lower lateral cartilages. Tipplasty uses precise techniques to reshape these cartilages, creating a more refined and proportionate nasal tip.

Tipplasty can address:

• A drooping tip that points downward, particularly when smiling

Tipplasty is a less invasive alternative to full rhinoplasty and is ideal for patients whose main concern is limited to the nasal tip. If you also have concerns about the bridge or overall size of your nose, a full rhinoplasty may be more appropriate. Your surgeon will advise during your consultation.

Before Your Procedure

Your journey starts with a free consultation, online, by phone, or at one of our UK consultation days. You will discuss exactly what bothers you about your nasal tip and your surgeon will assess your cartilage structure and skin thickness. Digital imaging may be used to show you a projected result.

Once you decide to proceed, you receive a treatment plan and pre-procedure instructions, including avoiding blood-thinning medications.

During Your Stay in Turkey

Your VIP transfer collects you from the airport and takes you to your 5-star hotel. You attend the hospital for pre-procedure assessments, blood tests, photographs, and a face-to-face consultation with your surgeon.

Tipplasty is performed under general anaesthetic and typically takes 1-1.5 hours. Your surgeon reshapes the tip cartilage through precise incisions, using sutures, trimming, or grafting techniques as needed. You stay in hospital overnight for observation.

After Your Procedure

You will have a small nasal splint or tape on your nose to support the new tip shape as it heals. There is typically no internal packing, as the bridge and septum are not affected. Your surgeon sees you for a follow-up check before you fly home. The splint is usually removed after 5-7 days. You receive full aftercare instructions and 12 months of ongoing support.

Tipplasty has a shorter and generally easier recovery than full rhinoplasty, since only the nasal tip is treated and the nasal bones are not altered.

Day 1-3: Expect mild swelling at the nasal tip and some tightness. Bruising is usually minimal compared to full rhinoplasty, many patients have little to no bruising. Keep your head elevated and avoid touching your nose.

Day 3-5: Swelling begins to settle. You may feel slight numbness or stiffness at the tip, which is normal. Avoid blowing your nose.

Day 5-7: The nasal splint or tape is removed. You will see an initial improvement in the tip shape, though it will still be swollen. Most patients are pleasantly surprised at this stage.

Week 2-3: Most of the visible swelling has resolved. You can return to work and social activities. Avoid contact sports and any activity that could knock your nose.

Month 1-6: The tip shape continues to refine as residual swelling gradually resolves. Nasal tip skin is thicker than bridge skin, so the final shape takes longer to fully emerge.

Month 6-12: Your final result becomes fully apparent. The tip looks natural, defined, and in proportion with the rest of your nose and face.

Tipplasty is a focused procedure with a strong safety profile and fewer risks than full rhinoplasty, as the nasal bones are not altered.

Common effects (expected and temporary):

• Swelling at the nasal tip, resolves gradually over weeks to months
• Mild discomfort or tightness, managed with standard pain relief
• Slight numbness at the tip, very common, resolves within a few months
• Minor bruising, less common than with full rhinoplasty

Less common considerations:

• Asymmetry, minor tip irregularities can occur as healing progresses
• Under- or over-correction, your surgeon plans conservatively for a natural result
• Infection, rare, minimised through sterile conditions and aftercare
• Need for revision, a small percentage of patients may want further refinement
• Visible scarring, if the open technique is used, the tiny scar on the columella fades to become virtually invisible
