Tubular breast deformity (also called tuberous breast deformity) is a developmental condition where the breasts do not develop fully during puberty. The result can include a narrow breast base, a constricted lower pole, puffy or herniated areolae, and significant asymmetry between the breasts.

Living with tubular breasts can deeply affect your confidence and self-image. Many women with this condition have felt self-conscious since their teenage years and have spent years avoiding situations where their breasts might be visible.

Tubular breast correction is a specialist procedure that reshapes the breast, releases the constricted tissue, and uses implants to create a rounder, more natural breast shape. Your all-inclusive package from £3,950 includes the implant cost, your procedure at a government-licensed hospital, 2 nights in hospital, 5 nights in a 5-star hotel, VIP transfers, a personal translator, and 12 months of aftercare.

What Is Tubular Breast Deformity Correction (implant included)?

Tubular breast correction is a specialised surgical procedure that addresses the anatomical features of tubular breast deformity. The procedure typically involves several techniques combined in a single operation:

Tissue release: The constricted tissue at the base of the breast is scored or released, allowing the breast to expand into a rounder shape. This is the key step that distinguishes tubular breast correction from a standard augmentation.

Areola reduction: If the areolae are enlarged or puffy (a common feature of tubular breasts), they are reduced in diameter and reshaped using a periareolar incision.

Implant placement: An implant is placed to add volume, particularly to the constricted lower pole. This helps create a natural, rounded breast shape. The implant type and size are carefully selected to complement the corrected tissue.

Reshaping: The existing breast tissue is redistributed to create a more symmetrical, natural contour.

Because tubular breast deformity varies in severity, your surgeon will tailor the procedure to your specific anatomy. Some patients require a more extensive correction than others. The implant is included in your package price.

Am I Suitable?

You may benefit from tubular breast correction if you:

  • Have one or both breasts that are elongated, narrow-based, or conical in shape
  • Have puffy, enlarged, or herniated areolae
  • Notice significant asymmetry between your breasts
  • Have a constricted lower breast pole (the lower half of the breast appears "missing")
  • Have felt self-conscious about your breast shape since puberty
  • Are in good general health and at a stable weight

Tubular breast deformity exists on a spectrum from mild to severe. Your surgeon will assess the degree of deformity during your consultation and explain what correction is possible.

What Happens During the Procedure?

Before your trip: A detailed video consultation where your surgeon assesses the degree of tubular deformity using photographs. Your treatment plan is customised to your anatomy.

Day 1, Arrival: VIP airport transfer to your 5-star hotel.

Day 2, Procedure day: Final in-person assessment and surgical markings. The procedure takes approximately 2-3 hours under general anaesthesia. Your surgeon releases constricted tissue, reshapes the breast, reduces the areola if needed, and places the implant.

Days 3-4, Hospital stay: Private room with nursing care. Close monitoring of tissue expansion and implant positioning, as the corrected tissue is adapting to its new shape.

Days 5-7, Hotel recovery: Daily patient coordinator check-ins. Gentle walking encouraged. Surgical bra worn continuously.

Day 8, Departure: Final surgeon review and VIP airport transfer.

Months 1-12: Regular aftercare monitoring, particularly important as the corrected tissue settles.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery from tubular breast correction is similar to breast augmentation, though the tissue release component means some additional swelling is expected.

Week 1: Moderate swelling and discomfort, particularly as the released tissue expands into its new shape. Pain medication keeps you comfortable. Wear your surgical bra at all times.

Weeks 2-3: Swelling begins to reduce. The breast shape starts to emerge, though it will continue to change. Light activities possible.

Weeks 4-6: Most patients return to normal activities. Swelling continues to subside. Your breasts are taking on their new shape.

Months 2-6: Significant improvement as the released tissue fully adapts and the implants settle. The breast shape becomes rounder and more natural over time.

Months 6-12: Final results are visible. The correction continues to refine subtly as tissue heals completely.

Risks & Considerations

As a more complex procedure than standard augmentation, tubular breast correction carries some additional considerations. Standard risks include infection, bleeding, scarring, changes in nipple sensation, capsular contracture, and asymmetry.

Specific to this procedure, there is a risk that the tissue correction may not achieve complete symmetry (particularly with significant pre-existing asymmetry), and in some cases a second-stage procedure may be recommended to fine-tune the result.

Your surgeon will be transparent about what is achievable in a single procedure based on the severity of your deformity. All procedures are performed in government-licensed, JCI-accredited hospitals with 12 months of aftercare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tubular breast deformity is a congenital condition that occurs during breast development in puberty. A ring of constricting tissue at the base of the breast prevents the breast from expanding normally, resulting in a narrow, elongated shape. It is not caused by anything you did or did not do.

Standard augmentation without tissue release will not fully correct tubular breast deformity. The constricted tissue must be released to allow the breast to expand into a rounder shape. Simply placing an implant behind constricted tissue can create an unusual double-bubble appearance. This is why specialist correction is essential.

Most patients achieve a good result in a single procedure. However, severe cases of tubular deformity may benefit from a two-stage approach, an initial correction and then a refinement procedure several months later. Your surgeon will be honest about whether a staged approach is likely during your consultation.

The goal of tubular breast correction is to create a natural-looking breast shape. While the result may not be identical to a naturally developed breast, most patients are very pleased with the dramatic improvement in shape, symmetry, and proportion. The change from a tubular to a rounded shape is typically very significant.

Yes, the implant cost is included in your all-inclusive package price of £4,550. This covers the implant, surgical procedure, hospital stay, hotel accommodation, transfers, and 12 months of aftercare.
