A mini abdominoplasty (mini tummy tuck) is a less extensive version of a full tummy tuck, designed for patients who have a moderate amount of excess skin and fat concentrated in the lower abdomen, below the belly button.

If your main concern is a lower belly "pooch" that will not shift despite diet and exercise, and you do not have significant excess skin above your navel, a mini tummy tuck may give you the result you want with a shorter scar, quicker recovery, and lower cost than a full abdominoplasty.

This package includes one area of liposuction to refine the result. Your all-inclusive price from £2,300 covers the procedure at a government-licensed hospital, 2 nights in hospital, 5 nights in a 5-star hotel, VIP airport transfers, a personal translator, and 12 months of aftercare.

What Is Mini Abdominoplasty (one area lipo included)?

A mini abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes a smaller amount of excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen compared to a full tummy tuck. The incision is typically shorter (often contained within the bikini line) and the belly button is usually left in its natural position.

What it addresses:

  • Excess skin and fat below the belly button
  • A small to moderate lower abdominal bulge
  • Minor muscle laxity in the lower abdomen

What it does not address:

  • Significant excess skin above the belly button (a full tummy tuck is better for this)
  • Severe muscle separation (diastasis recti) extending above the navel
  • Excess skin on the flanks or back (an extended tummy tuck or body lift may be needed)

The included one-area liposuction is typically applied to the flanks, upper abdomen, or mons pubis to complement the mini tummy tuck and create a smoother overall contour.

Your surgeon will assess whether a mini tummy tuck is sufficient for your anatomy during your consultation, or whether a full or extended procedure would give a better result.

Am I Suitable?

You may be a good candidate for a mini abdominoplasty if you:

  • Have a moderate amount of excess skin or fat below the belly button
  • Have good skin tone above the navel
  • Want a shorter scar and quicker recovery than a full tummy tuck
  • Are at a stable weight and in good general health
  • Have completed your family (pregnancy can reverse the results)
  • Do not smoke, or can stop 4-6 weeks before the procedure

If you have significant excess skin above and below the belly button, or severe muscle separation, a full abdominoplasty or FDL tummy tuck may be more appropriate.

What Happens During the Procedure?

Before your trip: Video consultation to assess your lower abdominal area and determine if a mini tummy tuck is appropriate, or if a larger procedure would serve you better.

Day 1, Arrival: VIP airport transfer to your 5-star hotel.

Day 2, Procedure day: Final assessment, markings, and photos. The procedure takes approximately 1.5-2.5 hours under general anaesthesia. Excess lower abdominal skin and fat are removed, muscles tightened if needed, and one area of liposuction is performed.

Days 3-4, Hospital stay: Private room recovery. Compression garment fitted. Drains if required.

Days 5-7, Hotel recovery: Daily patient coordinator check-ins. Light walking. Compression garment worn continuously.

Day 8, Departure: Final check-up and VIP airport transfer.

Months 1-12: Regular aftercare check-ins.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery from a mini tummy tuck is generally quicker than a full abdominoplasty.

Week 1: Moderate soreness and swelling in the lower abdomen. Prescribed pain medication. Wear compression garment. Walk gently but avoid bending at the waist excessively.

Weeks 2-3: Swelling reduces noticeably. Light activities and desk work are usually possible from week 2. The lower abdomen already looks flatter.

Weeks 3-4: Most patients return to normal activities. Gentle exercise can resume.

Weeks 4-6: Compression garment can be phased out. Moderate exercise resumes. Scar is pink and firm but hidden in the bikini line.

Months 2-6: Final result becomes visible. Scar continues to fade for up to 12-18 months.

Risks & Considerations

Risks are similar to a full tummy tuck but generally lower due to the smaller extent of the procedure: infection, bleeding, scarring, seroma, numbness in the lower abdomen, wound healing issues, and asymmetry.

Because the procedure is less extensive, recovery is quicker and complications are less common than with a full abdominoplasty.

All procedures are performed in government-licensed, JCI-accredited hospitals with 12 months of aftercare.

Frequently Asked Questions

A mini tummy tuck has a shorter incision, addresses only the lower abdomen (below the belly button), and typically does not reposition the navel. A full tummy tuck uses a longer incision, addresses the entire abdomen from rib cage to pubic area, tightens the full length of the abdominal muscles, and repositions the belly button. Your surgeon will recommend the best option for your anatomy.

The scar from a mini tummy tuck is shorter than a full tummy tuck and is placed low across the lower abdomen, typically within the bikini line. It is designed to be hidden by underwear or swimwear. The scar fades significantly over 12-18 months.

One area of liposuction is included to complement your mini tummy tuck. This is most commonly applied to the flanks, upper abdomen, or mons pubis area, depending on your anatomy and goals. Your surgeon will recommend the most beneficial area during your consultation.

A mini tummy tuck is best for patients with a moderate lower abdominal concern. After significant weight loss (such as following bariatric surgery), a full abdominoplasty, FDL tummy tuck, or body lift is usually more appropriate due to the larger amount of excess skin involved.

Yes. A mini tummy tuck can be combined with breast procedures as part of a mummy makeover package. Discuss combination options with your patient coordinator to find the best package for your goals.
