Breast augmentation revision addresses problems or dissatisfaction from a previous breast augmentation. It is a specialised procedure that may involve one or more of the following:
Implant replacement: Swapping your current implants for a different size, shape, or type.
Capsular contracture correction: Removing or releasing the hardened scar tissue capsule that has tightened around the implant, causing firmness, discomfort, or distortion.
Pocket adjustment: Modifying the implant pocket, making it larger, smaller, or changing its position (e.g., moving from above the muscle to below).
Implant malposition correction: Repositioning implants that have shifted too high, too low, too far apart, or too close together (symmastia).
Rippling correction: Addressing visible rippling or wrinkling of the implant through the skin, often by changing the implant type or placement.
