Revision Rhinoplasty (Surgery Only) in Turkey
Expert correction of a previous rhinoplasty, from £5,200 for the procedure, performed by specialist revision surgeons at government-licensed hospitals.
Revision rhinoplasty is for patients who are unhappy with the result of a previous nose procedure. Whether your first rhinoplasty was performed in the UK, Turkey, or elsewhere, if the outcome did not meet your expectations, or complications have affected the result, revision surgery can make it right.
Revision rhinoplasty is one of the most technically demanding procedures in cosmetic surgery. The nasal structure has already been altered, scar tissue is present, and cartilage may have been removed or weakened. This is why it requires a specialist surgeon with extensive experience in secondary nasal procedures. Our revision surgeons perform these procedures regularly and understand the complexity involved.
This surgery-only option is designed for patients who prefer to arrange their own accommodation and transfers, or who are already in Turkey. If you would like everything taken care of, our all-inclusive revision rhinoplasty package includes hotel, transfers, and full aftercare.
Was ist Rhinoplasty Revision (Surgery Only)?
Revision rhinoplasty (also called secondary rhinoplasty) is a procedure to correct or improve the result of a previous nose surgery. It addresses both cosmetic dissatisfaction and functional problems that may have resulted from the initial procedure.
Revision rhinoplasty can address:
- An unsatisfactory cosmetic result from a previous rhinoplasty
- A nose that looks pinched, over-reduced, or asymmetric after surgery
- Breathing difficulties that developed after the first procedure
- A collapsed nasal valve or weakened nasal structure
- Visible irregularities, bumps, or depressions
- A nasal tip that is too upturned, drooping, or misshapen
- Scar tissue causing distortion
Revision rhinoplasty is more complex than primary rhinoplasty because the surgeon is working with altered anatomy. Cartilage grafts (taken from the septum, ear, or rib) may be needed to rebuild or reinforce the nasal structure. The open technique is almost always used to give the surgeon the best visibility and control.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and typically takes 2-4 hours, longer than primary rhinoplasty due to the additional complexity.
This surgery-only pricing includes:
- The revision rhinoplasty procedure
- Hospital stay (1 night)
- Pre-operative assessments
- Post-operative medications
- Surgeon and anaesthetist fees
Accommodation, transfers, and extended aftercare are available separately, or you can choose the all-inclusive revision package.
Bin ich geeignet?
Revision rhinoplasty may be right for you if:
- You are unhappy with the result of a previous rhinoplasty
- Your nose does not look the way you expected after the first procedure
- You have developed breathing difficulties since your previous surgery
- There are visible irregularities, asymmetry, or structural problems
- At least 12 months have passed since your previous rhinoplasty (to allow full healing)
- You are in good general health and fit for general anaesthetic
- You are a non-smoker, or willing to stop smoking at least 4 weeks before and after
- You have realistic expectations, revision surgery can significantly improve but cannot always achieve the ideal result
A detailed assessment of your previous surgery is essential. Your surgeon will examine the current nasal structure, discuss what changes are possible, and explain any limitations based on the remaining cartilage and tissue.
Wie läuft der Eingriff ab?
Before Your Procedure
Your journey starts with a thorough consultation. You will share photographs and details of your previous surgery. Your surgeon will assess your current nasal structure, externally and, if possible, with imaging, to understand what was done before and what can be achieved now.
This assessment may be more detailed than for primary rhinoplasty, as the surgeon needs to understand the altered anatomy. Digital imaging will show you projected outcomes.
During Your Procedure
Revision rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic at a government-licensed hospital. The procedure takes 2-4 hours. Your surgeon uses the open technique for maximum visibility and control. Cartilage grafts may be harvested from the septum, ear, or (in complex cases) a small piece of rib cartilage to rebuild or reinforce the nasal structure.
You stay in hospital for 1 night with nursing care.
After Your Procedure
You will have a nasal splint and internal supports. Your surgeon sees you for follow-up to check healing and remove splints (typically after 7 days). You receive aftercare instructions. If you have opted for the surgery-only package, you will manage your own accommodation during recovery.
Erholung & Nachsorge
Recovery from revision rhinoplasty is similar to primary rhinoplasty, though swelling may take slightly longer to resolve due to the presence of scar tissue from the previous procedure.
Day 1-3: Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes. Nasal congestion. Keep your head elevated. Pain is managed with prescribed medication.
Day 3-7: Bruising fades. Swelling begins to settle. Avoid blowing your nose.
Day 7-10: External and internal splints are removed. You see the initial shape. Expect significant residual swelling at this stage, revision results reveal themselves more slowly than primary rhinoplasty.
Week 2-4: Most visible bruising has resolved. Swelling continues to improve. Return to work and light activities.
Month 1-6: The shape continues to refine. Scar tissue from the previous surgery means swelling resolves more gradually.
Month 6-18: Your final result becomes apparent. Revision rhinoplasty can take up to 18 months for the final result to fully emerge, particularly in the nasal tip.
Risiken & Überlegungen
Revision rhinoplasty carries a slightly higher risk profile than primary rhinoplasty due to the altered anatomy and scar tissue. However, in the hands of an experienced revision specialist, it is a well-managed procedure.
Common effects (expected and temporary):
- Swelling and bruising, may be slightly more prolonged than primary rhinoplasty
- Nasal congestion, improves as internal swelling settles
- Numbness at the nasal tip, may take longer to resolve
- Mild discomfort, managed with medication
Less common considerations:
- Need for further revision, a small percentage may desire additional refinement
- Cartilage graft complications, donor site discomfort (ear or rib), graft reabsorption
- Structural weakness, the nose has less cartilage available for support
- Asymmetry or irregularities, working with scar tissue adds complexity
- Infection, rare with sterile conditions
How your safety is managed: Your procedure is performed at a government-licensed, JCI-accredited hospital by a surgeon experienced specifically in revision rhinoplasty. The open technique provides maximum visibility. Detailed pre-operative assessment ensures your surgeon fully understands the altered anatomy before operating.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
After a first rhinoplasty, the nasal anatomy has been permanently altered. Cartilage may have been removed, scar tissue has formed, and the structural support of the nose may be weakened. The revision surgeon must work with these changes, often rebuilding or reinforcing the nose using cartilage grafts. This requires specialist experience and a longer, more precise procedure.
You should wait at least 12 months after your primary rhinoplasty before considering revision. This allows the nose to fully heal, swelling to resolve completely, and the final result of the first surgery to become apparent. Operating too soon increases the risk of complications and makes it harder to assess the true starting point. In some cases, your surgeon may recommend waiting 18 months.
The surgery-only option covers your revision rhinoplasty procedure, hospital stay, assessments, and medications. The all-inclusive package adds 5-star hotel accommodation, all VIP transfers, a personal translator, and 12 months of UK-based aftercare. The all-inclusive package is recommended for most patients, but the surgery-only option suits those who prefer to arrange their own travel and accommodation.
Yes. Breathing difficulties after a primary rhinoplasty are one of the most common reasons for revision. Issues such as nasal valve collapse, septal deviation, or excessive cartilage removal can be corrected during revision surgery. Your surgeon will assess your airway and incorporate functional correction into your treatment plan.
In the hands of an experienced revision specialist, most patients achieve a significantly improved result. However, it is important to have realistic expectations, revision surgery is working with altered anatomy and there are limitations. Your surgeon will be transparent about what is achievable and what is not during your consultation. Most patients report being much happier with their result after revision.
